A year in review: Aurora Colorado Family and Senior Photographer

As another year opens and begins to launch forward, I find myself sitting with so much gratitude. Gratitude for every family that trusted me with their memories, every senior that stood on the edge of a new chapter, and every little moment we froze in time last year. Smiles, glances, laughter, and yes, even a few perfectly imperfect toddler “moments”.

This past year has been filled with everything that makes this work beautiful. From golden hour family photography sessions in the parks of Denver to cozy newborn photos nestled at home. From maternity magic to those once-in-a-lifetime senior portraits that catch the light just right. Every session has been a reminder that photos are more than just pictures. They are proof. Proof of growth. Proof of connection. Proof that time keeps moving, and that we’re wise to pause now and then and hold it close.

Looking ahead to the new year, I hope you’ll continue to find ways to capture your own story. Whether it's updating your family photos, booking spring mini sessions, or celebrating the milestone of high school graduation, there’s no wrong time to create space for memory-making.

For those of you with a high school junior at home, now is the perfect time to start planning senior photos. Most public schools (Cherry Creek School District, Douglas County School District, Aurora Public Schools, Denver Public Schools, Jeffco, and Littleton) in the Denver Metro area require senior portraits to be submitted by mid October, which means summer sessions book quickly. Booking now ensures you get that warm evening light, those wildflower backdrops, and the space to celebrate your teen without the stress of a deadline creeping up.

Photography is not just about the frame on the wall or the post on social media. It’s about storytelling. About preserving the way your son laughed at seventeen. The way your daughter rested her head on your shoulder. The way your family belongs to each other, exactly as you are right now.

This next year, I hope we all give ourselves permission to be seen. To celebrate. To document not just the big milestones, but the everyday magic too.

Here’s to another year of memory keeping. I can’t wait to see what stories we’ll tell next.
