There is something infinitely special and challenging about photographing your own children. They are less interested in you than other children, and you have to find something different that the usual "tricks" to get their attention. As soon as you get 2 to cooperate, the third melts down. Or has a finger up their nose. Yet, every single one of these photos is special, because it is them, in that moment. And while I wouldn't think that most would enjoy seeing a photo on the wall of a baby screaming, or of a toddler with his finger up his nose- I cherish them and plan to hang them. I can only hope that the images I capture of other's children and families are as loved and cherished as I love and cherish the images on my children.
