{Sarene, day 7} | Parker Newborn Baby Photographer

Do you ever have the moment when you see something and know that it is just going to be perfect?  Even at her mommy's maternity sessions I just knew she would be beautiful, but how beautiful I couldn't have guessed.  Petite and precious- I don't think I have EVER seen a baby have such beautiful skin so new.  Little miss Sarene was an absolute joy, enough so that we just kept playing!

She smiled every single time I changed her pose.  I think she is a born performer, right down to her beautiful little feet.

Shannon and Matt, thank you for letting me part of your journey as parents.  I am blessed to have you as clients and now as friends.

(This one is my favorite so far!!)

This little man knows how to make an entrance. But is he oh-so-worth all the worry he caused? COMPLETELY.

Most newborns I capture do better without mommy nearby.  That mommy smell makes them hungry and squirmy... But every so often, despite the baby whispering, they would rather have mommy near them than me.  Carter was one of those babies- but who could blame him?  His mommy is rather wonderful.

Evergreen Newborn Photographer

Once he was snuggled and warm, he was ready to go.  We even got his big doggy brother in on the action.  I love the curiosity from Tippit about who that little baby is.

I can't wait for the trees to blossom and the snow to melt- watch for family portraits in the next couple of months!

Newborns make me giddy.  Like, lets do a dance in the middle of a store giddy.  This little one was no different- and I fell in love the moment I got to snuggle him.  It's always hard for me after I leave a session- because even though we only spend a few hours together I miss those sweet little ones after I leave.  I'm so lucky to get to see them again when we have our in-home viewing sessions. It is so cool to capture a new family in their home.  The way they are comfortable in their own space, that everyone can relax, is one of my favorite things about traveling to people.  It's also exciting to capture them in their environment as it is now, knowing that it will change as time passes.  How cool is it that you can look back and see what your life was in that moment?  I absolutely love it.

Can you believe all that hair?  An amazing, happy, BEAUTIFUL baby.  Even though it took a while for him to fall asleep, he was happy the whole time.  I am truly blessed to have gotten to spend a few hours with him and his family.

After capturing the birth of little baby G, I was SO thrilled to get to spend more time with this family!  We had so much fun.  You can't beat a sweet, beautiful, perfectly sleepy little newborn followed by peek-a-boo under pillows and playing outside with kids.

I just adore this family!  I love that we got to do newborn images, as well as family ones.  They are all my favorite things wrapped into one!

And are they not a completely stunning family?  Cuties everywhere you look!

I'm not always great at expressing an experience in writing.   I can tell you though, that I have been more blessed by knowing this beautiful family in the last several weeks than I could have known.  The first time we talked on the phone it became a 20 minute conversation about how much we love our kids.  They are the kind of family that love each other so much that it makes you want to adopt a child, the kind of family that reminds you that love isn't decided on by the blood you share- but the bonds you share. I have always wanted to attend a scheduled c-section, but have always assumed that it would be a very stiff and sterile environment- different from the births I have attended in the past.  I was very mistaken.  There was so much joy in the room, such warmth- just like any other birth.  Smiles, anticipation, and tears.  The only difference is we knew what time this little one would arrive!  It was amazing- and SO cool to see the procedure.  Coolest part?  Little one's gender was a surprise!

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your amazing day.  Thank you for letting me spend a couple of days with your beautiful family.  I am so very blessed to know you all.

Remember this beautiful mommy and her boys?  This is their newest addition- and he is just as gorgeous as the rest of the family!  He was such a great baby at our session.  Even big brother wanted to get in on the pictures.  I only wish that biggest brother had been there to play too- but school came first.

Don't you just want to snuggle them up??

You know the best thing about turning one??

Loveland Baby Photographer

That you get your own birthday cake of course!!

I got to meet this little guy for the first time on Saturday- and I have to tell you- he is  stinking cute!  I walked into the house and he reached for me... talk about melting your heart.  He is only a few days younger than my youngest, and we have been looking forward to this session for a year.  He is a special, long awaited gift for his mommy and daddy- and I have been dying to meet him since the day he was born!  We tried to stay inside as long as we could, because it was COLD outside.  It was supposed to be close to 60* and it was only 30* +  wind chill!  BRRRRR!

Loveland Family Photographer

He had no fear with his cake.  It was about the funniest thing ever and we giggled the whole time he ate it.  One taste, and he realized his hands wouldn't do the job.  Only a mouth can handle such goodness!  After we made a delicious mess, a tubby was in order.  There's nothing quiet like being all shiny and clean after some tasty cake.

**CUTE BABY ALERT!!**

I love babies.  In fact, my favorite things in the whole world happens to be babies (They qualify as babies for much longer in my brain than you'd think) .  And I can't help but snuggle and kiss and play with them.  I say WAY too many times how cute they are (Because my goodness- how can you not??).  I love a little something about every single age.  From the moment they are born they are so special.  Every moment they are around brings something new, amazing, and memorable.  I get all weepy thinking about it- because it is there and gone in a flash.  So every time I get to see a baby I relish in the little things that are there just for the moment.

This little cutey is 3 1/2 months old and about as sweet as they come.  She was about the happiest baby ever.  Even when she was spent from our shoot, she made one little whimper and was done.  What a blessing!  Could they be any more precious than she is?  I just wanted to squeeze her perfect little cheekies.  Even the kitty cat got in on the action and gave me eye contact.  We braved the chilly outdoors for a few minutes- with little miss A all bundled until just before we took a few pictures.  Such a trooper!

Just a couple more | Denver Child Photographer

Colorado finally got a little fall weather!  Yesterday was the first snow of the season, and one of my favorite days of the year.  You know, before we all get sick of the snow and want it to be warm again.  Actually- I love the chilly weather.  It's a great excuse to break out scarves, hats, gloves and super cute jackets.  Plus... Hot Chocolate just doesn't taste as good when it's warm out. Looking at the forecast, we decided to do our little follow up session a day earlier than anticipated.  Boy am I glad we did- because the weather was NASTY at the time we were going to meet yesterday!  Monday, on the other hand, was 75*, mildly breezy (until we handed Mr. W the balloons again- then it picked up of course... hahaha), and the light was just yummy.

Thanks for coming out again and braving the crazy squirrels and goose poo!  I'm so glad I got to see you guys again!

I have to admit something.... I had to call my husband right after I met this gorgeous family to tell him just that.  It makes me absolutely giddy that I have such gorgeous clients- and what tops it all off is that they are just about the most wonderful people in the world.  I am so very glad that you chose me R family.  I had a great time playing and laughing with all of you.

The wind worked against us first thing in the morning.  We met at Red Rocks Amphitheater to start our morning session, and what was supposed to be a warm, sunny day, was a really chilly gusty one.  So we headed to our second location to start- crossing our fingers that the wind would die down.  Well, it was better at the second location, and we decided to play and let the kids warm up to me and the camera for a little while.  We had a plan to have little Mr. W hold some balloons since he just turned one.  Well....  We got him all set, tied the balloons to his belt loop, stepped away, and before I could snap 2 pictures, a gust of wind sucked all 10 balloons into the sky.  Bummer.  His big sister was crushed, and we were disappointed that it didn't work out.  So we are going to try balloons round 2 a little later this week!

Aren't they beautiful?

Remember this beautiful belly?  This is the sweet baby boy behind the belly!  This little angel had a busy day the day we shot him.  He flew in from Minnesota, drove for an hour in the car, and then did the session.  Even with all that stimulation he did AMAZING!  He let me know when he didn't like what I was doing- but as soon as he heard his Momma's voice all was well in his world.  I could have snuggled him ALL day.  Isn't he gorgeous??

Congratulations Brittany- he is so wonderful.

{Lovies} | Denver Portrait Photographer

When planning a session with a client, I always encourage them to bring items that make them "them".  Since I photograph so many children- lovies, blankies, binky's and other comfort creatures are part of those items.  Often- mom and dad want to leave this beloved possession behind- afraid it will ruin the picture.  I disagree.  Those are what make an image.  Your baby will be too big for those security items before you know it.  We aim to photograph you as you are NOW. Your little one can't leave the house without that superman cape around his shoulders?  Your princess must always have on her Sleeping Beauty heels?  Your sweet little baby needs her tigger or his taggy blanket ever dragging behind them?  Bring them to our session.  They are a part of your family too- no matter how threadbare, dirty, or worn they might be.  After all, what would the story be like without the Velveteen rabbit?

Happy Birthday Amelia! | Denver Birth Photographer

I met Stacey by chance.  I was visiting a photography board, and there was a post from a photographer that needed a birth photographer.  I had only shot a couple of births previously- so the idea of shooting the birth of another photographer's baby was intimidating- but I sent her a message anyhow.  I figured that she would probably get lots of offers, but it didn't hurt to try!

Then she emailed.  Stacey was having a home birth.  I had never known anyone who had had a home birth.  More intimidation.  That sounded scary! I had had my first two babies in hospitals. But she told me about the light in their house.  And how beautiful it was to have her first at home, and it wasn't as scary to me anymore.  We decided to meet up- half hoping she would go into labor after we walked around.  I bring my camera everywhere.  Especially to places I know are pretty- like the Butterfly Pavilion.  And so I grabbed a few quick snaps of my daughter, her son, and her gorgeous belly.  I wish I had gotten more maternity style-- prettiest. belly. ever.

Denver Maternity Photographer

We emailed back and forth pretty much daily at that point- and I pretty much didn't sleep.  I kept checking my phone to make sure I didn't miss a text, call or email.  That was my worst fear- to sleep right through her birth!  I kept praying for daylight.  PLEASE let it be day.

A week passed- then I got an email.  "I'm contracting.  This might be it- I'll let you know".  Nervous butterflies.  I should be a midwife.  I love being at births.  Yes, there is a person in pain (been there, done that 3 times thankyouverymuch)- but it is a productive pain- a pain that brings the most amazing miracles into the world.  It's beautiful.  And amazing.  I love it.   Anyhow, I waited to hear from her again- I had an appointment with my midwife that morning, so I figured it would work out perfectly to go to the midwives office then head to see them.  When I talked to Stacey while I was at my appointment... I knew it was the real deal- she couldn't talk during contractions.

When I arrived Stacey looked gorgeous.  A woman in labor and stunning.  I was so jealous!  She had such a beautiful birth, and welcomed Amelia into the world at home.  In peace- with so much love.  It made me want to have home births.

Denver Birth Photographer

Perfect, alert, spectacular.  And I was there to capture it. IN COLOR!  Not a lot of births get to be in color.  The lights are usually too dim- so our photos- while beautiful, are grainy and grain is beautiful in black and white!

I was extra lucky and got to shoot some newborns of her as well!  She was so awake and aware of where her mommy went the whole time I was there.  Did I mention Perfect?  She  was and is!  And that picture of Stacey holding her to her tummy?  A WEEK after she had her!  You'd never know that she was ever pregnant.

Denver Newborn Photographer

Then it was my turn to add to our family.  And Stacey was there to capture Teagan's birth.  The photos are gorgeous- and I am so thankful she was there!

We got together just before Christmas... And here's that little princess almost 4 months old.  Couldn't you gobble her up??? I just could melt over all those rolls. Teagan was about 2 weeks old.  They were such different sizes- such a special picture of the two of them together.

Denver baby photographer

And now she's one.  Gorgeous, sweet, one.  I have been blessed to know you little miss Amelia!  Thank you Stacey for letting us be part of her first year.  She is a blessing as are you!

{G Family} | Highlands Ranch Family Photographer

I got to play duck-duck-goose this weekend.  Actually, it usually becomes duck-duck-duck-duck-duck.....DUCK-duck-duck.... DUUUUUUUCK-duck-duck......GOOSE!, followed by running not in a circle, but FAR FAR away from the goose.  At least if we're playing playground rules.  I admit though- I kinda stunk up the duck-duck-goosing.  I had a injured heel and I couldn't chase the boys.  I was bummed. Aren't these boys too cute???  Five years old, with a new brother, cuteness galore and awesome parents.  They know all about super heroes and think it's hilarious when you tell them not to smile.  They made my day.

Highlands_Ranch_Family_Photographer

The whole family was all about bare feet.  I have to tell you- I was excited about that, because shoes are, after all, highly overrated.

Thank you G family.  You are all beautiful and have blessed me.

Long Road... | Englewood Colorado Family Photographer

I can't believe nearly a month has passed since my last blog post.  We have had a crazy month and it seems like my head is finally slowing its spin.  For those who don't know, we take care of my Grandmother.  She is nearly 87!  On April 29th she had a heart attack.  By the grace of God, she is recovering very well, but it has been one heck of an adjustment since her coming home.  We are just thankful that we are with her and were able to get her medical treatment before it was too late. Doctor's appointments, Therapists, Nurse Visits, and old friends have kept our household bustling.  Being home constantly has given us a chance to take lots of snapshots of the little details of our life.  Teagan is sitting up on her own now, and this new perspective has her wheels turning.  You can see that now she thinks she wants to get moving- and crawling will come before we know it.  She is such a joy and so full of personality.  She can't resist an opportunity to brighten someone's day with her precious 5 1/2 month old smile.  She is my little chubba- Rolls everywhere!  Hailey and Noah were chubby, but never had so many rolls.

Blog Teagan

Noah is our busy boy.  100mph or sleeping (Sometimes in the funniest places), he keeps us on our toes.  He is actively potty training- so all of our visitors have gotten to witness shameless acts of streaking as he bolts for the potty.  He is at the age that is far too busy to take the time to look at the camera unless we are slinging mud at a window or trying to scare Mommy as "Dino Noah".  He lights up our life.  Noah is our pistol.  Our energy.  Our chatterbox. His sister's defender, best friend and worst enemy.  If they aren't fighting, they are holding hands and hugging.  He adores his baby sister and wants so desperately to carry her around.  We have had a few instances that we have to stop him as he attempts to lift her off the floor by her legs.  He makes each day interesting and exciting- and while it can be tiring- it is wonderful and I am thankful to have such a smart, healthy little boy.

Noah Blog

Then there is Hailey.  A princess to the core, during playtime we have to address her as such.  "Princess Hailey"- and if she is playing the role of mommy, it is "Mommy Princess Hailey".  She is full of questions- most that she is too young to ask.  She is a little mommy, and glued to her baby sister's side.  She loves being a helper and tries all too often to carry Teagan and change her diapers.  She is a daddy's girl, and about half way through the workday will start asking if she can watch for him to come home.  She wants to go to school as long as I come with her.  She is amazing and has a beautiful and caring heart.  She doesn't know a stranger in the world, and if you aren't careful when we bump into you at the store- she may very well share her life's story with you as we wait in the check out line.  At 4 she already has a heart for service and asks how we can help others.  It melts my heart.

Hailey Blog We are beyond blessed to have such amazing children.  We are blessed to spend time with their great grandmother- they are given more gifts from their time with her than they could ever hold in their  hands.  We are blessed to be at home, blessed to have each other, blessed to have time together, blessed to know that the most solid thing we have is family.

Someone Special | Englewood Newborn Photographer

Who says you can't make friends online?  While we were in Texas we visited my dear friend Andria- she had just had baby #3 (at home!  ROCK STAR!)- 9 pounds and 10 days early.  Can you imagine if he had cooked all the way?  I've delivered 9 pound babies- but I was numb from the chest down- so I am in awe of her strength. Andria and I met online almost 3 years ago.  Our boys are only a few months apart, and now our little ones will also be close in age.  This little one is a miracle baby- and you can feel love radiating for him as soon as you walk into the house.  We don't get to see each other often- but we are good friends and I am thankful for her.  It was an honor to capture some newborn images of her wonderful baby boy- and of her older son.  Even the puppy had to get in on the fun- although I wouldn't have suggested white for her- but she insisted that we take her picture.  I wish we could have convinced her daughter to let us capture her as well. Austin Newborn Blog Thank you Andria for allowing us to spend time with you and to snuggle your babies!

A Precious Gift | Littleton Newborn Photographer

One of the best things (There are a LOT of best things- but this is one of them) about capturing images for families is hearing their stories.  This little guy was an extra special gift.  He was tried and waited for.  Then he decided to come a week late!  What an amazing baby boy. He was an angel for me.  I can't get over his beautiful red hair, or how large and striking his eyes are!!  Isn't he lovely? He made it hard to choose which images to use for this little sneak peek.  His mom and dad are beautiful too, so he definitely comes by his looks honestly. Newborn Boy Portraits

Thank you P family!  I look forward to getting to know you!

Why I love my job | Englewood, Colorado Baby Photographer

There are hundreds of reasons that I love my job- but this has to be my favorite reason.  I get to watch children, people, families grow.  Yesterday I got to go visit one of my most favorite families EVER- after several months- and I almost cried when I saw how much their babies have grown.  Little miss S was my first "for real" newborn session.  She was so petite and perfect.  Soft, rosy cheeks, and a little angel for me.  What could have been a scary experience was a wonderful one.  She is the little princess who made me realize that I loved being a newborn photographer.  Her family made me realize I love being a family photographer.  They are all beautiful and kind and I feel like family every time I visit them.  What a blessing they have been to me! Isn't she precious?  At one she is all smiles and thinks I'm crazy.  I love it!
